About Eugene Farrar Music
Born in Halifax, west Yorkshire, Eugene 'cut his teeth' learning and playing trombone with the Friendly Brass Band, one of the oldest brass bands in the country. Spells of study at the then Salford College of Technology and Newcastle upon Tyne Polytechnic, saw Eugene spread his musical wings, becoming an active performer with many varied jazz groups, popular and function bands.
Post-study, Eugene moved throughout the North of England, eventually settling in the North Yorkshire town of Harrogate. He has however remained busy both nationally and in Europe playing Trombone, Sousaphone, Blues Harmonica and singing and fronting various bands at weddings , Corporate entertainment events , festivals, jazz clubs and recording sessions.
Eugene says he is never happier than when he is fronting his own "EUGENE FARRAR BAND" , an eclectic five or six piece band, expertly blending Jazz, Swing and Function music with a measure of banter! Formed in 2004, the band features some of the country's finest talent and some of Eugene's favourite musicians. Ideal entertainment for weddings, dinner dances, indeed any social or corporate function!
Available with the band, as a guest soloist with other bands or as an emcee at your event, Eugene is a firm believer in attention to detail and flexibility in meeting your specific entertainment needs. So whatever your event, a professional, high quality and entertaining contribution is assured!
